Camille Kuo - Tear Down Heaven
This is one of my favourite pictures ever! I find the childs face captivating and I find myself drawn in. Having the eyes an off white colour is interesting, as eyes are described as being the window to ones sole. It gives the illusion that there is no soul to be seen. The boys has a young face, would probably place him at being 12ish. but the body seems far older. It looks like its been through more abuse. Another thing that I love is how tightly he grips the thorn rope, although he doesnt seem to be exerting any real pressure onto it.
The screaming face in the background is what brings the whole image together. Its the only real visualisation of any pain or discomfort. I would go as far as to say that this is the boys soul...
