Me Like vs Me Don't Like

Me LikeMe Don't Like In this post I've decided to look at how piercings are a form of jewellery. I like piercings, but I do have my limits...
Piercings, just like other jewellery such as rings and necklaces, have to be ergonomical. The type of piercing used has to suit where its being used and most importantly, it has to look good.
The first image (the one Me like) is attractive (although I'm in no way saying how comfortable it is). The ball is a slightly darker colour than the rest of the ring which is an idea often used. It is also small and doesn't detract from the eye. They have also chosen a matte finish as apposed to a glossy one. A big thing to take into account with eyelid piercings would be the light reflecting off it. This would not be particularly good for the retinas.
The lower image (the one Me Don't Like) is awful. The ring is far too large and you can see how it lifts the actual fold of skin above the eyelid. The ball has a gloss finish and the overall size is much too large. When one looks at the eyelid piercings in general, the lower image puts one off them. Its just plain gross to be completely honest. The top image however at least manages to look attractive.

Me Like

Demons by Liquidchild101 This is a painting done on a mans back. I like the fact that there is only one eye peeping through the open zip as opposed to two. Demons are normally portrayed as having small red eyes which just scream evil at you. This image, however, portrays a single blue eye. Personally I feel that this eye doesn't scream evil at you... You feel no chill whatsoever when looking into the eye. That being said, the lightness of the eye colour certainly draws one in dramatically. Another aspect of the image is the calmness. The mans right hand appears to be feeling his back, maybe trying to pull the zip closed again? But the left hand is holding the right hand in place and it's not doing so desperately, but in a more loving, caring way, almost as though it's saying 'don't worry...'
